Default Beckie 2208 Scam

So, someone on that other SP forum, new to this hobby posts the following:

Quote:
Hi gentlemen,

I was wondering if anyone has had a chance to partake? You have to go through a online screening process so I'm a bit redundant. If anyone could let me know that would be great.

Cheers guys
(^ I think he meant reluctant?)

Then another, seemingly more seasoned hobbyist responds with this:

Quote:
Looks like the scam to get your credit card number for a webcam site or soemthing like that... dont waste ur time
The OP didn't seem too convinced from what I can see based on his response:

Quote:
Thats what I was thinking but those pictures are like damn. google didn't find nothing either
I spent hardly 5 minutes looking into it and responded with this:

Quote:
If a provider is making you pay online for some kind of "online screening process" before she will ever consider seeing you it's not really worth it to begin with.

You're right that Google doesn't find anything on those images, but Tineye does and it matches ads in at least this many places:

Fayetteville, Arkansas
La Salle County, Illinois
Lafayette, Indiana
Sioux City, Iowa
Finger Lakes, New York
Binghamton, New York
Columbia/Jeff City, Missouri

This is a clear scam perpetrated by Streamray, Inc/Various, Inc. because the place "she" wants you to give money to is one of those cam sites linking back those "corporations". They're the same people behind Adult Friend Finder among many other similar adult sites. They're known to place ads on Backpage to lure in unsuspecting people such as yourself. Don't ever fall for this. No reasonable provider will ask you to take part in this kind of shady BS.
Fortunately, that seemed to be enough to convince and educate the OP.

I look at ads anywhere and can usually tell right away when the pics are fake or it's looking like a scam. Even if it doesn't and I need to take it step further and actually contact the SP, the first few responses reveal a lot and it then becomes obvious to me things are not legit.

I wanted to bring this kind of thing to the attention of others here in the event it helps anyone navigate the minefield that is BP. What is obvious to me may not be obvious to others so I thought I'd share. Let's call this one part of my new series of posts I'm calling "Common Sense, or not". They're posts that will point out something obvious to most, but not to some.

Also, why anyone in London needs to see an SP who doesn't advertise on London Sugar is beyond me. As far as I'm concerned, we've already got the best of the best right here and plenty of variety to boot. But if you're going to browse BP then at least be smart about it.
